Wednesday Wants #20 + Spending Ban Update

Hello!

My spending ban has been hard this week...for some reason, there are so many lovely products around that I have wanted to buy! I am only 40 days in (not even half way through!) , and I am hoping that by making this wishlist, it will get rid of my temptations to buy them! Not sure how that will work, but fingers crossed ;)

First up, OPI's Nail Envy. This is on the pricy side, at £18.65 from Boots, but I know alot of people say this has saved their nails. My nails tend to get to a certain length, stop growing, get really weak, then start peeling and breaking! It's not great. 

Next, Collection (not collection 2000 anymore!), Cream Puff's. These look like lipglosses, but have a more moisturising, cream texture, and they dry quite matte. I particularly like the colour of Angel delight, but they're all lovely, and smell delicious. I first heard about these through reading Jennie's blog, and they look gorgeous on her :) These are £2.99 (bargain!) from Boots.

Lastly, the River Island 'black high shine tube pants'. I've been really lusting after a pair of AA Disco Pants, but I just can't stretch to that much (£70!!) on one pair of trousers! I've heard from a few people that these are a good dupe, and the £30 price tag makes them all the more attractive :)

So that's what I've been lusting after this week! Anyone have any of these things? 

Also, does anyone have any Disco Pant type trousers?! I'm not sure what kind of thing I would be able to wear with them..any suggestions welcome!

(Late) Wednesday Wants #18

Mornin'!

This week I have been working crazy hours, and I managed to totally forget about my WW post!

I am obviously on my spending ban at the moment, which is going pretty well actually! I'm really enjoying using up products that I've got, and rediscovering old loves :)

Although I've been finding this ban easy this week, I've still been doing some online fantasy shopping, and the site I've been enjoying most is http://www.cutecosmetics.co.uk. This site specialises in cruelty-free, organic, vegan and natural beauty products. They also offer free standard UK delivery which is a nice bonus! So, here are the things that I have been putting in my basket ;)

First up, the Korres lip balm in Wild Rose, £6.I love lip balms, and I've heard so many good things about the Korres ones. All of them look lovely, but rose is one of my favourite scents, and this looks like it would leave a lovely reddish tint to your lips.

Next, another lip balm! Crazy I know. The EOS lip balm spheres are talked about alot on youtube/blogs and I want a piece of the action! I've heard lots of people saying how moisturising and lovely these are, they also look super cute! They come in lots of scents, but sweet mint sounds like my kinda scent. These are £5.95.

The Konjac sponges are something that I have been eyeing up for a while. Basically, they're a sponge made out of plant root, that you use to cleanse your face. If you want to add additional face cleanser/wash, then you can, but it isn't necessary. These come in different varities for different skin types, but I think I would start off with the Original/Pure version. These are £6 and should last for a few months.

Lastly, this Bdellium Green Bambu 708 bent eyeliner brush. Now, I am useless at applying eyeliner. I dream of the day in which I can manage lovely eyeliner flicks! The shape of this brush looks like it would really help. This is £6.50.

So, I think a lil' online purchase from this site will be a must when my spending ban is over :)

Wednesday Wants #17

Evening :)

So, I only blogged about being on my spending ban 4 days ago, but I've already had to fight a lot of temptation! I have realised just how impulsive my spending has gotten, as soon as I see a brand with '3 for 2' posters, or a new product launch, I seem to feel I need the product! But, so far, I have resisted the urge to spend! I still haven't got the hang of Polyvore, so I'm just gunna go old school with this post, and put individual pictures! These are the things that have been especially tempting this week...

First up, something I have posted about wanting before, the Maybelline Color Sensational Popsticks. There's no real logic behind wanting these, they're essentially very expensive lipbalms, but they look cool and smell amaaazing! Maybelline have been on 3 for 2 for a while in Boots, and it's ridiculous how often I have picked up three popsticks to buy, only to talk myself out of it!

Next, more Maybelline! These superstay tint glosses always remind me of YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres, but with not so fancy packaging! I have never seen the YSL stain/gloss hybrids, so I don't know if this is a good dupe type product, but with YSL being out of my price range (spending ban or no spending ban!), this Maybelline product is as close as I am going to get!

Lastly, the Rio Sonicleanse. I've heard various bloggers/youtubers talking about this, and it sounds as though it's a pretty good (and cheaper!), alternative to the Clarisonic. I've had awful skin recently, and it's made me think seriously about investing in one of these devices, because alot of people say they have made such a difference to their skin! So, this is likely to make it's way on to my birthday list!

So, that's what I'm wanting most at the moment :) I'm meeting my friend in town tomorrow, and we will probably just mooch around the shops, which could be dangerous! Fingers crossed my willpower will make an appearance!

Ban me up Scotty! (100 day spending ban)

Evening all!

A while ago, two blogs that I follow, Sophia from Tattooed Tealady and Hayley from WifeLifeBeauty, posted about going on a 100 day spending ban. Although tempted to try it, I was put off for a few reasons, the main one being that I was worried I wouldn't have much to post about if I didn't buy any new stuff! There was also always something that I wanted to buy before I embarked on the trial, one last thing that I needed (which means I really didn't, who needs another red lippy?!).

I've since decided to just bite the bullet and do it. I've got enough products already to keep me going with review/FOTD's, so there shouldn't be any shortage of posts! Also, through not buying new stuff, I should be using up more products meaning I can review them, and do empties posts :)

So, here are my rules:

• I am not allowed to buy any skincare, makeup, bath or body products, no matter how many exiting new products come out!
•  I am not allowed to purchase food or drink when out unless I need to. I have enough food/drink at home to take packed lunches to work! 
• For me, the ban is more geared towards makeup/skincare and unnecessary food purchases than clothing, but I will try to stick to no more than £50 a month on clothes/jewelry etc.

Obviously things like petrol, parking, phones bills etc will have to be paid, and I will be still be going on nights out (gotta have a lil bit of fun!).

Although I will be trying to stick to this as much as I can, if, for example, I run out of certain skincare and my skin goes crazy, I will allow myslf to repurchase as it is a constant battle to keep my acne under control.

My main reason for doing this is that I have more makeup, skincare, bath and body products than I could ever need. I also very rarely finish products, I am more likely to get halfway through, get  bored and buy something else. I am hoping this challenge will stop me being so impulsive with my spending, and start getting me in the habit of using things up before buying more of the same. 

I will be using my regular Wednesday Wants feature to keep a track of things I am lusting after that week, and as weekly update on how I am coping with the ban. When my ban is over, I may treat myself to something on one of my wishlists, if I still want it :)

I will be starting the ban tomorow (1st July), and I'm very excited! If anyone else is doing this, or has done a ban before, please let me know! :)

P.S I have still got a haul to do of stuff that I've bought during the last few weeks which should be up in a couple of day, so that's not me breaking the ban, just being very disorganised!

Spending ban!

Hey guys :)

Yesterday I decided that I would impose a spending ban on myself. I came to this decision when I realised I have about 4 of everything I use. I have countless back up deodorants, cleansers, shower gels, bubble bath, macaras, lippy etc, and I could probably cope using the things I've already got for the next 6 months or so!

I think 6 months is slightly over ambitious, but I'm going to make a real effort not to just buy new things because they're on offer or because someone has raved about it.

As an example, I'm currently using my Elizabeth Arden cleanser, but I've also got two full Superdrug Vitamine E hot cloth cleansers, a 3/4 full Soap and Glory The Fab Pore hot cloth cleanser, 2 full Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean face washes, and various sample size cleansers/washes from my Glossyboxes.

So, I just thought I'd let you all know about my spending ban, and my attempt to use the things I've already got! Hopefully by telling you, I will have more incentive to stick to it!

Has anyone else given themselves a spending ban? How did it go?! 

Oh and, does anyone have a recommendation for a good eye makeup remover that gets off waterproof mascara? I know it's a bit ridiculous saying I'm having a spending ban, and then trying to get a new makeup remover, by my usual cleansers or makeup wipes aren't cutting the mustard!
