Farewell Friday #6

Hey everyone! 

I've only got a stock photo of this weeks Farewell Friday, because I left it empty in the bathroom and someone threw it away!

I've been using the Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash for a good few months, and I think I've tested it long enough to give a fair review :)

The packaging says to wet face and dispense two amounts of the foam into your palm, and massage onto your face. Firstly I will say, this product actually comes out like a foam, kind of like a hair mousse!
I don't know whether that's obvious to other people, but I wasn't expecting it! The other thing I will say is, I think I've got a fairly normal sized face, and one amount of foam was enough for me! 

Whilst I was using this, my skin did become really clear, and the best that it's been in years. I'm not entirely sure whether it's down to this, or a mixture of factors, but since I've stopped using it, my face has become a lot worse.

I used to use this twice a day, and sometimes more on problem areas, such as my chin. I would have thought that would dry out my skin, but it didn't seem to, which is really good.

Since I ran out, I thought I'd try a different tea tree wash (Body Shop), but I definitely prefer the Boots one!

Pro's:

Didn't dry out my skin

Seemed to help my spots

Lasted a long time

Wont break the bank!

Didn't have an overpowering smell

Con's:

The packaging isn't amazing (doesn't bother me though!)

The pump dispenser sometimes made a painful 'nails along a chalkboard' noise when you pressed it down

Would I repurchase? Yes, I'm going to buy it again soon! I think it's amazing value for money, and seemed to make a real difference to my skin.

The Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash is £3.59 for 150ml (currently on 3 for 2!) and can be bought in Boots stores, and online.

Anyone else tried this? Or got any Tea Tree recommendations?

Thought I'd do a quick nail post today :)

It's nothing spectacular, but I think they're pretty cute!

I used Barry M's Mint Green, and Models Own nail art pen in yellow. 

I was originally intending to do a little bunny on the fingernail with the stripes(which I saw on another blog, can't remember which one!), but I couldn't manage it! 

I can't wait until I'm good enough to master trickier nail designs!:(

Wednesday Wants #10

Ahoy there!

This Wednesday finds me with another bloomin' cold, so my first wish is that it goes really quickly, and I can stop looking like Rudolph :)

Next on my list, is something that combines two of my loves, nail art and fruit. Meet, nail art fruit!

The particular set I am looking at is £1.20 for 240 pieces, in 12 different designs, but if you search 'nail art fruit' on Ebay, lots of different designs and price points come up. The melon ones are so cute!

Continuing with the fruit theme, is this fabulous Ted Baker Lemon Ring. Available from Asos.com for a slightly painful £45, I think this is the perfect way to add a bit of colour and fun to an outfit. Also by Ted Baker, are apple and raspberry versions, and they're all available in rings, necklaces, and earrings. They all look equally delicious!

Last up, and moving away from fruit!, is Illamasqua cream blush in Promise. 

Recently, I've been a big fan of a dewy look, and I'm really eager to try a cream blusher!

This is descibed as a 'warm candy pink', which sounds right up my street! :) This is £16.50 from Illamasqua.com.

(Late!) Wednesday Wants #9

Evenin' :)

I think this is the first week since I've started doing this series that I've forgotten to do a Wednesday Wants!

So, I'm just going to ignore the fact that it is Thursday, and do it anyway! :)

I'm not going to do it in Polyvore because I still can't work out how to use it, and it stresses me out!

First up, this lovely aztec dress from River Island, £20.

I think this would look really cool in the summer, with bare legs and sandals, but you could also wear it with leggings/tights when it's a bit colder, and still look really cute!

Pretty random, but I am totally loving this mug from Preyuk.com, £9.95.

Got a bit of a tea obsession at the mo, and nothing beats a cute mug!

Lastly, the Maybelline Color Sensational Popsticks, £7.19.

I haven't heard anything about these on blogs/youtube, but I don't know why! They look vaguely similar to the Revlon Lip Butters, except they barely leave any colour, just a lovely shiny gloss! These also smell absolutely unbelievable! The main reason I want to buy one is because of how tasty they smell! The one in the picture is Citrus Slice, but they all look fab :~)

Review- Real Techniques Stippling Brush

Evening guys!

As you probably know (they've been all over blogs!), the Real Techniques brushes were created by one half of the fabulous Pixiwoo sisters, Samantha Chapman.

A while ago, I bought the Stippling brush, from Boots for £11.99.

Real Techniques say  "Create a flawless base with this beautifully designed Stippling brush by Samantha Chapman, which helps you build coverage gradually for an airbrushed, high definition result."

 I've had it for about a month, so have had plenty of time to test it out!

It's a really well made brush, with super soft, dense dual fibre bristles. The bristles are synthetic, so 100% cruelty free, and the brush is cleverly designed so that it can stand alone.

There's alot of hype about stippling brushes being able to create a flawless, airbrushed finish, so I was really excited to try one. 

I've been using it with MAC Studio Sculpt foundation, and applied with a stippling/buffing action. The effect was really beautiful, no patches, no streaks, just a natural, healthyl looking coverage. 

It was super quick, and easy to apply, perfect for when you've overslept and are in a hurry!

Personally, although I love the finish this brush gives, I'm not confident enough to use it on a daily basis, as it's not quite the coverage I need for my far from perfect skin. I am however, really looking forward to using it in the summer when it's hot, and I don't want heavy makeup.

I can't remember where I read it, but I saw someone say that this brush was perfect for blusher. I've been using it to apply my blusher recently, and its amazing! Doesn't pick up too much colour, and when stippled on to the cheeks, gives the most perfect rosy cheek look, and doesn't give the 'stripe of blusher' look that I sometimes accidentally give myself!

Pros

Gives a lovely, lightweight application of foundation

Cruelty free

Doesn't shed hairs

Reasonably priced

Works amazingly for blusher

Cons:

Doesn't give a heavier application of foundation

Uses quite alot of product, when I use my Eco tools foundation brush, I only have to use about half the amount

So, overall this is a fabulous, multi use brush. I'm using it as my go to blusher brush, and when the weather gets hotter, (or my skin gets better!), then I will use it for foundation. As I said above, I do use quite alot of foundation when I apply with this brush, but I'm willing to overlook this for the nice, natural finish!

I've washed it quite a few times, and I haven't noticed any shedding whatsoever.

Has anyone tried this brush? Or have any Real Techniques recommendations? I really want to try the Buffing brush!

P.S The brushes are still on 3 for 2 at Boots!

Evening guys! 

Thought I'd bring you a few more bits of my collective haul :) 

I feel less guilty about it when I split the stuff between posts, as it doesn't seem like I've bought so much!
First up, some Primark bits.

I grabbed this lovely blazer as soon as I saw it. It's been on a few blogs, and is a total steal at £10. Saying that, I haven't actually worn it yet, and I bought it about a month ago, so it was possibly an unnecessary purchase! Hopefully, some ideas of what I can wear it with will suddenly appear in my brain :)

I bought these 3 scarves as I'm a big fan of wearing scarves with everything! I think these were £3 each..or they may have been £1.50!

Bags, both £3. Can't have too many bags! The top one is nice and beachy, perfect for the summer, and the bottom one is a good night out bag as It's pretty small!

Got these two tops in the men section. Thought they'd be good for wearing with leggings on lazy days, and denim shorts in the summer :) The Spiderman one is also super soft, so I've worn it to bed a few times as well! The bottom one was £7, and I just loved the design. I believe the top one was £2.50 in the sale :)

So there we have it, quite a boring Primark haul! There was some really nice summery tops as well in there, which I will probably go back for, but I didn't want to go too crazy!

As some of you may know, I am obsessed with moisturising my hands, so the

 hand and nail serum sounds right up my alley! It is also in a glass bottle, and 

just looks really luxurious!

Lastly, the Urban decay mascara, because you can never have too many 

mascaras!

So, there is my week in pictures! I have recently gotten Instagram, but I'm still not really sure how to use it!

Sorry that most of these pics are rubbish, not sure whether it's because the camera on my phone is a bit pants, or because the pics I took are dark...hmm. I've been buying bits and bobs here and there for a while, thinking I would put it all together for a big collective haul. I have since realised that would be waay too much for one post, so I will be separating it out!

Models Own Aqua violet Beetlejuice nail varnish

Revlon Lip Butters in Lollipop, Candy apple and Tutti fruitti

Models own nail art pens in yellow, blue and pink

I'd been checking out the Revlon lip butters for a while, after hearing all the hype on youtube/blogs. For summer, I still like to wear lip colour, but my usual lipsticks can feel a bit heavy, and make me feel like I look a bit too made up. After swatching the colours, I decided that I wanted to try Candy apple, a lovely red, Lollipop, a nice bright pink with cool blue/purple undertones, and Tutti frutti, a bold orange. Now all I had to do was wait for the day when my Boots would have them all in stock! This never happened, so in the end, I managed to nab the last Candy apple from Superdrug. I then got the other two shades, and the beautiful beetlejuice nail varnish in Boots with their 3 for 2 offer. 

At the Models Own section, I saw that they finally had some other colours of my beloved nail art pen, so I added them to my basket as well!

I haven't had much chance to try out the lip butters yet, but when I do, I'll make sure to do a review. This is the first time I've tried a Models Own nail varnish, and I'm not very impressed with the formula, although the colour is lovely.

I can't wait to try and create some really bright nail designs with my new colours, I may attempt something easter-y!

Anyone else bought anything in the Boots 3 for 2? I'm not sure how long it's on for, but it's still on now :)

Wednesday Wants #8

Floral top- £36 from Topshop. Love the pattern, think it would look really cute worn oversized with leggings.

Sugar skull top- £65 from Wildfox/asos.  Love the vest, hate the price. Especially seeing as I've seen one very similar in good old Primarni! Still, if money were no object, I'd buy this.

YSL Rouge Pur couture Vernis A Levres- £22.50 from YSL. Crazy lipstick/gloss/stain which looks amazing, and comes in some lovely red shades, and vampy purple/plum ones.

Red midi dress- £25 from River Island. Nice colour, print, length and the price isn't too bad!

Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick- £21 from Debenhams. Not such a nice price, but a seriously beautiful product. My fave colour is the purple, but the reds are amazing too. 

Apple fascinator- £18 from ASOS. What can I say? I just love apples!

Lilac bow bag- £25 from Topshop. Lovely shade for spring, and the studded bow is super cute.

So that's what I'd like this week, please!

Thought I'd do a quick Face Of The Day. This morning I fancied doing something different, so I tried a lip product I've never used before (but had for aaages), and had a go with eyeliner! Crazy eh?!

Like I said, I had a bash at the eyeliner. They're not perfect, but I smudged them out a bit with black eyeshadow, to try and make it look like it was meant to be a bit messy! I'm hoping that practice will make perfect! :)

The Barry M lip crayon I got as a present ages ago, I can't believe I've never worn it! It is literally just like a crayon, and it's amazing! It's really hard to describe the texture, it's like a really moisturising lipstick, with a really glossy finish, that doesn't feel sticky, and lasts for ages! The colour is also lovely, really summery.

It's a really bright, orangey red with a nice glitter running through. The glitter doesn't translate much on the lips, it looks really nice and shimmery, but not in your face glittery. 

They come in a few other colours, so I think I'll check them out next time I'm shopping!
