My Favourite Summery Nail Varnishes

Evening all!

Anyway, on to the nitty gritty! Thought I would show you my favourite summery/hot weather nail varnishes. Now, in all honesty, I'm not the type of person that co ordinates my nail varnish with the season, or my outfit, or anything really. I just wear the nail varnish that I feel like wearing, but there are definitely colours I am more drawn to in hotter weather.

Barry M Berry Ice Cream, Topshop Minted, Barry M Pure Turqoise, Barry M Mint Green, Barry M Peach Melba. 

Barry M Berry Ice Cream- a lovely Parma Violet shade that isn't too pastel.

Topshop Minted- probably my top fave nail varnish, ever. Topshop nail varnys are a little bit pricier than Barry M, and with less product, but this colour is worth it! This is a beautiful, bright mint green /blue.

Barry M Pure Turquoise-  A fab, true sky blue!

Barry M Mint Green- More of a subtle, muted green, but lovely nonetheless. Barry M formulas never disappoint! 

Barry M Peach Melba- A lovely pastel peach shade, there was a huge buzz around this shade a while ago, and I'm still loving it :)

From L to R, 3 coats, 2 coats, one coat.

Lastly, Models Own Hed Kandi in Ibiza Mix. This is a fabulous glitter polish, with different shapes, sizes and colours of glitter, suspended in a clear varnish. This looks amazing on it's own, over any other summery polish, even over black.

Does anyone have any nice hot weather nail varnish recommendations? Not that there's any hot weather here at the moment!

F/OOTN- Bird Is The Word

Morning!

I went out last week, and managed to get a few snaps in so I thought I'd share them :)

Excuse the moodyness of this pic, but you can see the shirt well!

 Admittedly, you can't really see my outfit, but I was wearing this Zara shirt, and these River Island tube pants that I posted about in a recent Wednesday Wants.

This shirt has a really cute collar, with gems on, but stupidly I forgot to photograph it!

I don't tend to wear shirts and tight trousers, but I actually really liked the look! I think it would be quite wearable during the day. This outfit looked nice with my ASOS chelsea boots, but as I was going to a club (and can't walk in heels!), I went for some Primark Vectra dupes, which I also forgot to photograph!

Haulin #8

Evening! 

I did a bit of clothes shopping recently, and thought I would show you the things I bought :)

I also bought some accessories/jewelry but I am going to save them for another post!

 I bought three dresses. The first is by the brand Rare at Topshop, and was in the sale for £10. It's the most beautiful blue colour, quite dark but still nice and bright! This is a really flattering shape, as it is tight on the top, then kicks out from the waist, and has long sleeves and a criss cross detail on the back. The only drawback to this dress is that it's made from weird material, that feels like it's going to snag easily, but I'll just have to be really careful when I wear it!

The next thing I bought, I am soo excited about! I was going to buy this red Topshop dress when it was full price at £48, but I couldn't justify it at the time, and got it for £20 in the sale! This is also quite flattering, and super cute! 

The last dress I bought was from H&M. I have this dress in a few designs already, as it's also very flattering! It's got capped sleeves, a tight top and a flared skirt. This is a bargain at £12.99 and I thought the bird print was really cute and retro. The fact that I also get staff discount also doesn't hurt! 

 Lastly, this gorgeous maxi skirt also from H&M, for £19.99. This is one of those skirts with a shorter, tighter skirt underneath, and a flowy, sheer layer over the top. I was originally looking for a pair of denim shorts, as I don't have many summery clothes, but I could not find ANY that fit me right! In the end, I went for this instead as I thought it would be an easy to wear summer piece :)

Wednesday Wants #19

Evening all! 

Bit later in the day than I had planned to post this, but better late than never ay?!

Here's what I'm after this week...

 Firstly, this beautiful Marc B Amelia bag. This is a doctor bag, with leopard lining, and both a short and long (detachable) strap. I think quilted bags always look so classic and elegant, and the gold accents on this set it off perfectly. It's also available in Camel, which is also lovely. This is slightly pricy at £49, but I never mind spending a little bit more on bags, as I never go off them, and will use them to death.

Next, something which has taken the Blogging world by storm, the MUA Undressed palette. I already own the MUA Heaven and Earth palette, which is such good quality, and I can't wait to add this to my collection! Supposedly a very good dupe or the infamous UD Naked palette, this is a fraction of the price at £4.

Lastly on my mind this week, is a Lush face mask, specifically Cosmetic Warrior. Designed to fight spots, but not be harsh and attack your skin, I think this is just what my spotty-but-still-very-dry-skin needs! Even though I've heard rave reviews about Lush face masks, I never bought one, so this is going to be one of the first things I buy once my spending ban is over!

Shopping My Stash #1- Makeup

Howdy partners! 

I love reading these types of posts on other people's blogs- especially the Sunday Girl's. 

ShadesOfKassie also does a 'Weekly Makeup Basket' video, which is a similar idea, and great to watch. 

As I am on a spending ban, I thought it would be fun to do this type of post, as it means I can focus on particular products I have, and try to use them up. Not only will this encourage me to switch up my skincare and makeup, it will also (hopefully!) mean I'll get through some products, so that I don't have such a ridiculous amount of stuff that I don't use!

Anyway, rant over...

I will be trying to use- MAC Melba blush, which is such a good, easy to wear every day shade that I am slightly ashamed to say I find a bit boring...

Topshop cream Blush in Flush, which is a lovely colour but I don't know how to wear it! Anyone have any tips on application?

Then Revlon quad in Neutral Khakis, which I have forgotten about since I got my MUA Heaven and Earth Palette.

Lastly Ben Nye LSP 2 Fashion Lip Colour Palette which is full of creamy, pigmented, beautiful lip shades that I'd forgotten I owned!

So, I will be trying to use these a bit more :) I've also got some skincare/bath stuff that I'm trying to use more of, but I though I'd split up the posts so that they weren't too long :)

I used two favourites for this look, Topshop nail varnish in minted, which is my go to mint green/bluey shade, and Models Own nail art pen in white.

Afternoon all! 

Another late Wednesday Wants this week! 

My excuse is that I sprained my ankle this week so I have spent my

time moaning, feeling sorry for myself and keeping my ankle elevated!

On the plus side, at least it's taught me that drinking lots and then 

attempting to walk in the rain isnt a good idea, in fact it just

leads to embarrassment. And pain.

But anyway! Back to the point :) Last week I showed you some going

out style Topshop dresses that I fancied,  this week I am showing you some 

more casual/daytime ones, also from Topshop. Unfortunately, in the week 

since I created this set, alot of the dresses seem to have disappeared from

the site! Some of the dresses I could only find in the maternity style as well, 

but I am assuming that the non maternity versions will still be in shops :)

My personal faves are the swan dress, and the studded tunic.

Haulin' #6

Evenin'! 

Got another haul for you today, this is just random bits and bobs that I've picked up over the last month or so, which I forgot to blog about! 

Nail art pen in white, this blue skull bracelet, this nail art set in the 'fruit' version, and these dotting tools.

Haven't actually tried out any of the nail stuff yet, but I am eager too! :) The bracelet is a little big for my wrist, but it's wearable! 

Illamasqua skin base foundation in 02, La Roche Posay Anthelios xl spf50+ melt in cream, Soap and Glory you won't believe your eyes, Topshop cream blush in flush.

I won the Illamasqua foundation which is amazing as I never win anything! I've read some fab reviews on this, but I can't say I'm that impressed with it...I have only tried it once though, so maybe there's a knack to applying it right?! The Illamasqua team really impressed me with packaging, there was a hand written note and a sample of Freak perfume, which I have already used up and absolutely loved :)

During the hot spell we had over here, I bought the 50+ spf as I wanted something that was really heavy duty for my face (premature wrinkles? No thanks!), but easy to apply foundation over. I find I do have to give this 10-15 minutes to sink in, and I may need to powder over foundation to take away shine, but at least I wont be burning!

The Soap and Glory eye roll on was bought when I needed a third item for my 3 for 2. I have only been using this for a few days, haven't noticed any difference in bags or anything, but it feels amazing to apply! I really look forward to putting this on in the evening :)

Lastly, the Topshop blusher. This was a total whim, I was in Topshop and had a sudden urge to buy some makeup! None of the lipsticks really stood out to me, and I'd been wanting to try a cream blush for a while. The colour choice was actually down to my brother. I couldn't decide between Prime Time (bright pink), or Head Over Heels (bright coral), so I asked for his opinion. He said I'd look like a clown in either of those, and that Flush was the sensible option as it was actually a believeable colour for cheeks. At least he was honest ay! Tbh, I will probably go back for the brighter ones if I enjoy this blusher, as I do like bright cheeks!

So, more things that I don't need, and shouldn't really have bought! Anyone bought anything exciting recently? Or tried any of these things?

Wednesday Wants #13

Hey guys!

Here is what I'm lusting after this week :) 

First up, this amazingly cute dress from Topshop. I've seen this on a few different blogs, and I think it's so cute and fun! It's on the pricier side at £48, but it's very unique!

Next, the Enrapture Encode totem hair style. Long name! This did the blogging rounds a few months ago, and was a real hit with lots of people! You can create lots of different looks with this (volumised curls, beachy loose curls, tight ringlets), as you can set each section to a different heat setting. Curls tend to be my go to look, but recently I've found I can't be bothered to faff around with my heated rollers, so I think this would be a great investment. Available at Argos for £59.99 ( Usually £74.99!).

Last up, Lush's Eau Roma water. Recently I've been loving the smell of rose (I'm secretly an old woman!), so it's mainly the smell that is attracting me to this! I've not had much luck with toners, I've found they dry out my face, and I'm not really convinced that you need them, but this one doesn't contain alcohol, so I think I'm going to try it and see if I become a toner convert :) I've also heard it's really nice to 'refresh' makeup, or just spray on during a hot day! £3.75 for 100g.

Wednesday Wants #8

Floral top- £36 from Topshop. Love the pattern, think it would look really cute worn oversized with leggings.

Sugar skull top- £65 from Wildfox/asos.  Love the vest, hate the price. Especially seeing as I've seen one very similar in good old Primarni! Still, if money were no object, I'd buy this.

YSL Rouge Pur couture Vernis A Levres- £22.50 from YSL. Crazy lipstick/gloss/stain which looks amazing, and comes in some lovely red shades, and vampy purple/plum ones.

Red midi dress- £25 from River Island. Nice colour, print, length and the price isn't too bad!

Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick- £21 from Debenhams. Not such a nice price, but a seriously beautiful product. My fave colour is the purple, but the reds are amazing too. 

Apple fascinator- £18 from ASOS. What can I say? I just love apples!

Lilac bow bag- £25 from Topshop. Lovely shade for spring, and the studded bow is super cute.

This is the first time I've worn eyeshadow in the day time in aaages! I gave in to temptation and bought the MUA Heaven and Earth pallette, after spending ages gazing at the one I bought for my giveaway haha!
These pics were taken at the end of the day, after lots of sweating and running about, so I think the eyeshadow has held up pretty well! I'm impressed with how well they've lasted, at £4 for the pallette!

Anyways, It's way past my bedtime, so I'm off!

For this Wednesday Wants, I thought I'd attempt to do it through Polyvore! It is a first attempt, so I know it's a bit rubbish, but practice makes perfect ay!

Okay so the last one is definitely a 'when I win the lottery' purchase, but a girl can dream! I'm so into fruit prints, and the shape of the dress is really nice and easy to wear. 

The lace dress is very pretty, and I'm love with mint shades at the moment. The striped shirt and ring pack are possible purchases, they're just so cool!

The blusher is pretty, you can never have too many coral blushes, and I haven't tried anything from Illamasqua yet.

I'm not entirely sure why I'd need a teal lipstick, but it looks amazing in the promo pics and video which you can see here.

Anyone got any of these things? Or own a teal lippy?!

Hey guys!

More lust worthy items here :)

So, how amazing is this top?! It's literally my dream top, quirky, kitsch and ever so cool. This Dolly Face tee is by Meadham Kirchhoff, and can be bought for £30 from Topshop.

I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE! Possibly more than air.

Another top! This beautiful ruffle-tastic (real word) top is from the Diana Vickers collection for very.co.uk, and ticks all my boxes! Ruffles, bows, vintage look, this has got it all!

I spotted this top in a greeny shade in a magazine, but can't seem to see it on the website which is a shame as it was really nice.

This is £35.  

Lastly ASOS are really impressing me with their shoes! These are £28 from ASOS Collection.

I think they're gorgeous and would be so, so cute for summer! 

This second pair from ASOS are my dream shoe! I'm hoping they stay in stock for a few more weeks, because at £16, I'm willing to break my spending ban for them! I can see these going with every summery outfit I have, and I love palm tree/tropical prints. Beautiful!
