Hey guys :)
Yesterday I decided that I would impose a spending ban on myself. I came to this decision when I realised I have about 4 of everything I use. I have countless back up deodorants, cleansers, shower gels, bubble bath, macaras, lippy etc, and I could probably cope using the things I've already got for the next 6 months or so!
I think 6 months is slightly over ambitious, but I'm going to make a real effort not to just buy new things because they're on offer or because someone has raved about it.
As an example, I'm currently using my Elizabeth Arden cleanser, but I've also got two full Superdrug Vitamine E hot cloth cleansers, a 3/4 full Soap and Glory The Fab Pore hot cloth cleanser, 2 full Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean face washes, and various sample size cleansers/washes from my Glossyboxes.
So, I just thought I'd let you all know about my spending ban, and my attempt to use the things I've already got! Hopefully by telling you, I will have more incentive to stick to it!
Has anyone else given themselves a spending ban? How did it go?!
Oh and, does anyone have a recommendation for a good eye makeup remover that gets off waterproof mascara? I know it's a bit ridiculous saying I'm having a spending ban, and then trying to get a new makeup remover, by my usual cleansers or makeup wipes aren't cutting the mustard!
I need to! Check out my blog for an eye make up remover currently only £1.50 - and its brilliant! (won't break your spending ban too much!) x
ReplyDeleteOoh fabulous- just what I need! I'll have a look now :) x
DeleteI use Johnson's cleansing wipes. They feel a little bit oilyish so they remove all my make-up but they don't actually leave your face feeling greasy or oily.
ReplyDeleteI think I need a spending ban too!
That sounds like just what I'm after- I'll check them out! :) x
Deletehaha yeh I think i'm going to start leaving cards at home! And only taking the money I need, then I can't spend anymore! x
ReplyDeletereally a great idea- i need to use more rather than spend more as well. it's rather difficult though!

I know, I'm finding it so hard to stick to! I have no will power! Thanks for commenting :) x
DeleteI haven't put myself on a spending ban really, I'm just super skint right now! I am doing the Project 10 Pan though, just using up products before purchasing another similar item. I've been doing it for about a year now and it's a good feeling chucking loads of empty pots and cans in the recycling bin :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see how you get on with your ban though, don't give up! :P
xx
Ooh I bet that does feel good! I might look into doing that, I've heard people talking about it before, but never really understood what it was! Thanks so much, hope Product 10 Pan is still going well for you! xxx
