Hey guys :)
Thought I'd do a quick run down of my most used beauty related products of 2011. These are all one's I've used on a pretty much daily basis. Although I've got an absolute tonne of makeup, skincare etc, I definitely stick to a few 'safe' products. I think that will be a resolution for me this year-be more adventurous with my day to day makeup, and skincare.
Perfume:
Gorgeous musky, bitter vanilla scent. Lasts really well.
Prada Candy-
Now, technically I only got this at Christmas, so shouldn't really be a favourite of the whole year, but I have had a few samples that I've been wearing since it came out in August, and I've worn it non stop since crimbo, so I'm allowing it! :)
Boots Natural collection Vanilla body spray-
This has been my everyday body spray for about 3 years! Couldn't live without it!
Lush Vanillary solid perfume-
Love this! I just rub this on my pulse points, it smells amazing, burnt vanilla and caramel. It doesn't last a particularly long time, but it's easy to re apply and smells good enough to eat!
Makeup:
Benefit Coralista*-Lovely shimmery coral blush
MAC Melba-
Matte coral blush that's really easy to apply and blend. I tend to be a bit heavy handed with blush, this one is really light so even I can achieve a nice natural flush!
Bourjois Smoky eyes trio in 01 Gris dandy-
Three easy to blend shimmery shades that create the perfect dark smoky eye. These are my go to eyeshadows when I'm painting the town red :)
MAC Ruby Woo-
I wear this pretty much every day. The perfect matte retro shade, lasts all day.
Barry M 150 Red Glitter-
The most beautiful nail varnish ever. Takes a few coats to make it opaque, and doesn't last that well, but it's worth it for the colour! It also dries matte, which may not be to everyones taste but I really like.
Models Own nail art pen in Black-
I've read lots of negative posts about this, but I find it really easy to use, and a lot better than the Topshop one. Great for making polka dots (which is the main thing I do with it), or simple designs with the long, thin brush.
MUA Mascara shade 5-
I have really rubbish eyelashes, which is why I wear fake ones quite alot. I've tried tonnes of mascara's-from the most expensive to the cheapest, and I have to say, the cheapest works best for me! This is £1 (!) and I love it. It's quite a dry formula, doesn't flake or clump, and is the only mascara I've used for more than a few weeks. It's also got a small brush which is a huuuge bonus for me, I hate the whole 'Max Factor False Lash Effect' type massive brush, I just end up poking myself in the eye and getting it everywhere!
Collection 2000 Extreme 24 hour felt tip liner-
This is the most easy to use eyeliner ever! It's just like drawing on yourself with a felt tip. Easy peesy :)
Collection 2000 Lasting perfection concealer in Fair -
This was a really raved about product last year, and I'm definately jumping on that bandwagon! It covers and brightens amazingly, It's not quite as pale as my natural skin but I can get away with it to disguise my dark circles!
Elizabeth Arden Advanced eye-fix primer-
This was expensive at £19, but the tiniest bit goes a really long way, and keeps my eyeshadows on for hours and hours without creasing.
MAC Studio Sculpt in NC15-
This has taken over my Bobbi Brown stick foundation in Alabaster as my daily foundation. I love the coverage and finish of this, and it works really well on my dry skin, although I definitely prefer the Bobbi Brown Alabaster colour, it's a better match pale-wise!
Benefit The Porefessional*-
Use this everyday as my primer to hide my huge pores!
Skincare:
Clarins Multi Active Night youth recovery comfort cream-
What a long name! Great nightime moisutiriser, smells lovely and works wonders on my dry patches.
Marks and Spencers' Ingredients lemon hand butter-
Smells like lemon cheesecake! :) Sinks in quickly, isn't greasy and leaves hands really soft.
Soap and Glory The Fab Pore facial mask-
my favourite face masks-smells nice and minty, doesn't dry skin, although I haven't noticed any pore refining!
Neutrogena wave cleanser-
Love using this to cleanse my skin, makes it feel super soft! Really dislike the cleansing pads that come with them though, but I just use a different foaming cleanser on the pad.
Elizabeth Arden 2 in 1 cleanser-
Great everyday cleanser, gets rid of makeup and leaves skin soft.
Elizabeth Arden Intervene 3 in 1 daily cleanser, exfoliator,primer-
Another great all rounder, lovely to use on the Neutrogena wave, leaves my face feeling moisturised.
La Roche Posay Effaclar K-
Dries up spots without drying out the skin around it.
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream-
The only thing I've found that gets rid of a dry nose (all that blowing takes it toll!), without stinging.
Elizabeth Arden Overnight Success skin renewal serum-
Smells soothing and relaxing and really enhances any moisturiser used on top.
Burts Bees lipbalm(not pictured)-
Ran out of this yesterday so threw it out. Need a new one ASAP as it gets rid of chapped lipsalmost instantly!
Hair/Bath:
Lush The Comforter-
Fabulous bubble bar, turns the water pink, smells fruity and produces mounds of bubbles!
Lee Stafford Nourishing Miracle Oil:
Quite expensive,(I think it was around £15), but a little goes a long way and makes the ends of my hair really soft and healthy looking.
Organix Nourishing Moroccan argan oil conditioner-
Leaves my hair softer than any other conditioner I've used!
The Pink Cow Shower Gel/Bubble Bath-
All of these are fantastic, but particularly Ginger Bread and Mint Candy
So that's all my favourites of 2011! Sorry for the long post, but I've found lots of great products this past year. Feel free to link me to any of your favourite posts.
Hope everyone is well, thanks for reading!
*These products have been given to me for free because I work for Benefit cosmetics. This does not affect my honesty about the products, I included them in the interests of honesty, as they are products I use on an everyday basis.
Such a great post! Ruby Woo fo' life! I love that lipstick :) xx
ReplyDeleteI love the pink cow shower gels too, I wanted to put them in my 2011 faves but I didn't have a pic on computer and was too lazy to take one lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm so guilty of sticking to 'safe' products too! Intrigued to hear that you use a Natural Collection body spray, I've never actually noticed them - might be a cheaper alternative to my Body Shop fave :)
ReplyDeleteI love Prada Candy and Coralista too. I need to try the Organix Arran Oil products soon as I've heard a lot about them.

I really want to get Ruby Woo - it's on my list! Also love that Prada Candy perfume, which is unusual for me cause I love kind of musky scents if that makes any sense? I'm always one for heavy scents whereas the Candy is lovely and fruity and light, but I absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteMuch Love
