Hey guys!
Another little series I want to start :) I've basically realised I've got far too much makeup, skincare etc clogging up my life (well, my room), so I'm going to throw some out! If I do that, it means I'm allowed to buy new stuff, right?
First up, L'Oreal Double Extension Beauty Tubes mascara. This has a white base coat which is supposed to lengthen the lashes, and a black mascara to add the colour. It's also supposed to create a 'tube' around the individual lash, for an extension effect. Sounds good, ay! Well, It's rubbish.
I tried it out a few times to give it a fair test, but then I just gave up on it! It's an actual nightmare to get off, it says it's easily removed with warm water, lies!
You literally have to hold a cotton pad soaked in warm water on the eye, then do the same with eye makeup remover, and then you still have to scrub to get it off!
Not good for the delicate eye area. I do know a few people who like this, so I don't know if it's just my one that is so impossible to get off, or maybe I'm just really impatient!
Anyway, the mascara lasts really well on the eyes (too well infact!), but I found it really clumped up my lashes- and actually made them feel really hard, weird!
It was very black though, and does lengthen quite well. Back on the negative side, it doesn't add any curl, so the lashes just stick straight out- not a good look!
Pro's:
- Very black
- Long lasting
- Lengthens lashes well
- Good size brush
Con's:
- Way too hard to get off!
- Doesn't curl
- Clumps lashes, makes them look pretty spidery
- Makes the lashes feel really hard!
- £11.29 from Boots, which is pretty expensive for a lower end mascara
Would I repurchase? Never.
So, like I said other people seem to really like this, so maybe it's just mine that's not so good!
Anyone else tried this? What did you think?

Yeah, I tried this too. I found it really drying and hard to take off. Disappointing!
ReplyDeleteYeh, I was expecting a lot more for my money! x
DeleteI tend to run far far away from any double end mascaras, they always seem to clump (dunno why..) This mascara was the final nail in the coffin, my lashes were left so hard when wearing the mascara they would break off! xxx
ReplyDeleteomg thats awful! I know what you mean though, it made my eyelashes hurt because they were so hard! not what you look for in a mascara haha xxx
DeleteI have that mascara and it is SHIT. I still haven't found the perfect one :( luckily my lashes are pretty long so I usually don't wear it anyway, but I want a good one for the rare occasion I actually go out somewhere, haha.
ReplyDeleteaw im jealous :( I've got stupidly straight, short awkward lashes haha! x
DeleteSo disappointing! The Bourjois equivalent used to be really good but I haven't worn it in a few years. Btw I'm a new follower, just found you through twitter! xo
ReplyDeleteooh really, I saw that the other day and wondered if it was any good! Ah fab, thanks for following me! :D love your blog, just spent about 40 minutes reading back through loads of your posts! xxx
DeleteGreat Post!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Thanks so much! :) x
DeleteAnother really great mascara is Maxfactor false lash effect. If you want thick long lashes this one is possible the best I've tried and haven't used any other since. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I tried it a while ago, and didn't get on with it but I may try it again as people seem to love it! xx
DeleteIf you're still after a decent waterproof mascara that volumizes and curls really well I'd suggest the Collection 2000 Big Fake mascara. It's my HG mascara, used it for about three years!
ReplyDeleteIt's waterproof but not stubborn, your lashes still feel soft, it curls well, no transfer through the day, doesn't flake off and it volumizes and lengthens really well! :)
Sorry for blabbering on, I just really like that mascara haha :')
xx
