November Glossybox..

You know how sometimes when you're younger, and you're alone in the house, you would go looking for where your family had hidden your christmas presents? And it would be really exciting when you found them, but then on christmas it wasn't as fun opening your presents because you knew what was coming?
Well, that was kind of how I felt with this month's Glossybox. I'd watched other peoples videos about them, and read posts on them before I got mine, so I kind of knew what to expect. Unfortunately, the two things I was really looking forward to trying, (Illamasqua Freak perfume sample, and Phillip Kingsley Hair Elasticizer), weren't actually in my Glossybox, but that's probably karma for peeping!
I really want to try the Illamasqua perfume as it sounds gorgeous, but the closest one to me is Birmingham, so I haven't got a counter near me where I can try it out. I am also going through a real phase of using treatments on my hair, as I'm changing my colour soon, (and there will be bleach involved!) and the Elasticizer is supposed to be pretty amazing!

The Glossybox arrived in it's usual gorgeous, flawless packaging, and i'm really starting to love using the empty boxes for storage!

The first thing that jumped out at me was the Nail rock wraps, mine were in Fury Cheetah.
Nail wraps in Furry Cheetah.
I really like nail wraps, I've used some before from a different brand. They're pretty fiddly but practice makes perfect!
For someone like me, whose nail art skills only go as far as dotting, these are a fabulous way of getting intricate and complex designs.
The only negative thing I would say is, that these only come with 16 nail wraps. I understand the logic behind that, they haven't included 5 different sizes, so for example, I would use the 2nd biggest size on my thumb, as the largest are too big.
That means you don't have to use specific sizes for certain nails, you just chose the ones that are the best match size-wise.
I hope that makes sense, it took a while for me to get my head around it! The ones I've tried before, which were from Nailease, come with 20, so you can do 2 applications, but there isn't any room for mistakes as there's no spares!
So, although you would only get one application with the Nail Rock ones, you do have some left over if disaster strikes! Nail Rocks also come in an amazing variety of designs, I think I'm going to buy some more, I particularly like the looks of the Python, Stud and Star designs.

The next thing I got were the Dead Sea Spa Magik Bath Salts. I'm really excited to try these, as I am obsessed with baths! I'd bathe about 20 times a day if I could, I'm definitely a Bath Girl as opposed to a Shower Girl.

I haven't used these yet so I can't really comment on their effectiveness, but from other peoples glowing reviews, it looks like they're going to work wonders on my dry, winter skin. I've used Radox bath salts before, which smell absolutely heavenly, my only criticism of bath salts in general is that they don't produce enough bubbles!

I was really happy with the third thing I received, as it was a hand cream. Come winter, and I really need to break out the big guns of the hand cream world, as I suffer from really sore, chapped and cracked hands.
The Arbonne FC5 Ultra Hydrating Hand Creme is a really nice addition to my current collection that I am rotating between, which includes a L'Occitane one I got free from a magazine and an M & S one (their skincare is surprisingly nice!). To me, this smells more like citrus sweets, or sherbert, than kiwi, but it's a very pleasant smell. It is a bit greasy, and can take a few minutes to sink in, so probably not great for using when out about, but very nice to use just before bed.

The next product is a it of a 'meh' product, mainly because I'm not quite sure what it is supposed to do. The product is Monu Soothing Touch Recovey Balm.
I used this as a moisturiser after I had cleansed and toned, and it's quite nice, but it didn't  blow me away. It just didn't leave my skin that soft. It smells really nice though, with Rose and Bergamot, although if you don't like herbaly smells it's probably not for you. On the whole, it's quite nice to use to relax you, because of the calming scent, but i've got moisturisers which leave my skin softer, which I would chose over this. It is nice to have around incase I ever have an allergic reaction though.

Lastly, there was two perfume samples, L'Eau Serge Lutens and Vitriol d'Oeillet, which really aren't my cup of tea! I only tend to like really sweet perfumes, particularly things with strong vanilla notes, and these are just too musky and 'mature' smelling. I will be giving them to my Gran so that they don't go to waste though!

So, on the whole I was a little bit disappointed with this months box, but that's probably because I had my sights set on things that other people got, if I wasn't comparing it to them, I doubt i'd be disappointed. Next month, i'm going to ban myself from watching/reading about the box, so that it's a total surprise! I may even leave it under my tree until the 25th, so that I've got more things to unwrap!

Hope everyone is well, thanks for reading! :)

  1. My products were exactly the same as yours this month - i was desperately hoping for the Elasticizer as well, as mine arrived late and I'd seen everyone elses posts. Definitely right - it's Karma! x
