2012 Favourites - Hair and Skincare

Hello!

Thought I would jump on the bandwagon and do my favourites of 2012, sorry it's so late!

I will do a makeup version soon.

Just a quick warning - this is going to be pretty long, and pretty picture heavy :)

Hair Products:

Superdrug Dry Shampoo -

This dry shampoo is brilliant. Really cheap (usually on a buy one, get two free offer!), and does everything that the more expensive versions do. Refreshes the hair, gives it a bit of volume, and means I can go an extra day without washing my hair ;) 

L'oreal Paris Feria in 74 Mango- 

I have used this hairdye throughout 2012, it's quick and easy to use, and is my perfect colour. I can't imagine switching colour any time soon. 

Superdrug Shampoo and Conditioner - 

I really do love a Superdrug own brand product! The entire shampoo and conditioner range is amazing. They all smell amazing, and leave my hair feeling clean and soft and lovely.

Makeup Removers:

Garnier Soft Essentials Cleansing Wipes (Dry Skin)- 

These are really saturated, so they never tug or drag at your skin. They have the most beautiful rose scent, and take off every last scrap of makeup, including waterproof mascara!

Garnier Simply Essentials Soothing 2 in 1 Makeup Remover- 

I have rabbited on about this product for most of the year, so I'll keep this short! Basically, this takes off eye makeup quick as a flash and doesn't sting at all.

No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes -

Thought I'd include these as I did love them at the start of the year. These also don't drag, and take off all makeup really easily, but are more expensive than the Garnier ones, and don't leave my skin feeling as moisturised. 

Face Washing Products:

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Oil Free Cleanser -

This is the most luxurious cleanser I have ever used! Smells amazing, lathers up really well, and leaves my skin feeling really soft and cleansed. 

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Cleansing Wash -

I alternate between this and the Elizabeth Arden cleanser. This one also lathers well, and also has salicylic acid to help keep spots at bay, but doesn't leave my skin feeling tight. 

Soap and Glory Greatest Scrub Of All -

The only scrub I have ever repurchased, this is nice and gritty, but never rough.

Moisturiser/Mask:

M&S Formula Nourishing Night Cream (discontinued) -

Again, I've banged on about this a lot! This has been discontinued (sob!), but it's my favourite moisturiser of all time. Nicely scented but not over powering, really moisturising but it doesn't break me out, and a little goes a long way.

Soap and Glory Fab Pore Facial Peel -  

This is a face mask that doesn't dry on the skin, so it never leaves my skin feeling dry or tight. Although I don't particularly notice that this does much for my pores, what it does do is reduce the redness of my spots, and make my skin look alot more clear. 

Bath Product/Hand Cream:

The Little Bubble Co Bath and Shower Gel - 

The entire range of these bath and showers gel are absolutely beautiful. They come in delicious scents such as vanilla, mint candy, gingerbread, and fruity scents like strawberry and coconut. They're equally as great as bubble bath and shower gel, and are really cheap for the 500ml bottle. 

Garnier 7 Days Mango Hand Milk -

This hand cream may actually be my favourite product of 2012. It smells amazing, sinks it super quickly, and leaves my hands feeling so, so soft for ages. Highly recommend to everyone!

Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and a very happy start to the new year :)

I love reading these types of posts, so thought I would do one of my own about the fabulous things I got this year.

It goes without saying that I am not bragging about the things I was given, I just think it's fun to see what other people have asked for/been given. I was very spoilt this year and I am very grateful.

wednesday Wants #4

Hey guys :)

another Wednesday wishlist for you today! This time it's all makeup..

First up, this gorgeous little number from No7! Now, the picture doesn't really do it justice, this lipstick is the brightest pink I have ever seen! It's such a creamy formula as well, really moisturising on the lips.

The No7 Vital Brights lipstick in Blossoming Pink is £10 from Boots stores and online.

I am seriously considering breaking my spending ban for this, it is limited edition after all! One negative point I have though, is I haaate the white packaging! On the other pieces in the range, there's a lovely bright floral design which really stands out against the white, I wish they had put it on the lipstick case!

Next is this lovely little Bourjois Round Pot Light eyeshadow. I've always loved the look of the Bourjois little round pots, but not being much of an eyeshadow wearer, I've never actually gone so far as to buy one. These 'Light' eyeshadows are really beautiful. There's a few more in the range, but for some reason this blue one really stands out to me. It looks quite pigmented, but once blended out, it's a lovely iridescent blue/silver colour which would work great as an under eyebrow, or inner eye highlight. Apparently, you can also use these wet to intesify the look! I can't find these on the Boots website, but I've seen these instore for around £7.

Lastly, this amazing Tinkerbell palette by Pixi. This includes 5 baked eyeshadows, five lip colours, a 3 part blusher, mirror and brushes. I'll be totally honest though, once again I am sold because of the packaging! How adorable would this look in your room?! This is £32 with free delivery from asos.com.

the title of this post says it all really! Just a quick post on the nail varnish I have been sporting for the past week or so, I love it! Nothing says festive to me as much as red glitter!

I think I'm well and truly in the festive mood! Yesterday I was sat watching Elf, snuggled up on the sofa with a hot choc, having finished my present wrapping, when I decided I would attempt something christmassy with my nails.

No7 Purifying Sauna Mask Review

No7 is not a brand I can say I know much about, so when I was given a "£5 off No7" voucher recently, I wasn't sure what to use it on (being a bargain lover, the idea of not spending the voucher didn't occur to me, even though there wasn't anything I actually needed!). Having since read quite a few reviews, I would now know to use it on the Quick Thinking 4 in One Wipes, which seem to really impress people. As I am a lover of face masks, and because I had a bit of a spot erruption on my chin at the time, I gravitated to the section which held deep cleaning products. Eventually I settled on the Purifying Sauna Mask, (I am a total sucker for names, and the idea of a sauna mask hooked me straight away!), which was £6 after the voucher discount.

As the mask was self heating, I imagined it would be lovely for opening up my pores, and giving those pesky spots a bit of a seeing to. I have had this product for about a month, and tried it about 7 or so times, so I feel I've given it enough chance to impress me. 
 
Firstly, I'll start with the pros's..

1. Smells nice (Possibly due to the Rosehip oil it contains)
2. It really does feel lovely the way it heats on your skin
3. Would probably work very well on oily skins

Now for the con's (slightly longer list unfortunately)..

1. Quite pricey...even with the voucher, £6 for 75ml seems a lot, and there is no way I would pay the original £11 for it!
2. The heating sensation only lasts for a few seconds
3. The pumice grains in this are quite rough, and it does feel rather like you are sandpapering your face
4. Leaves a chalky residue on the face no matter how you try and take it off 
5. Really dry's the skin, even after the first use my face felt tighter and had dry, flaky patches
6. Doesn't actually help with spots (although, it didn't break me out..)

So, overall, I wasn't impressed, but I can see how this could work for oily skin types. Definitely not worth £11!
