Wednesday Wants #20 Fragrance Frenzy!

Afternoon :)

This week I am lusting after alottt of perfumes! At work the other day, I was asked to cover the fragrance counter for a bit, and I spent that time testing out every single perfume I could, and making a mental fragrance wishlist. 

Here are my favourites....

First up, Taylor Swift's new (and first, as far as I know) perfume, Wonderstruck. This has top notes of Strawberry, vanilla and also includes freesia, amber and blackcurrant. On me, this fragrance reminds me alot of Britney Spears Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy, but no where near as sweet. This is very easy to wear, and I can't imagine anyone disliking it, no matter what your scent preferences.

Insolence by Guerlain is an unusual fragrance. To my untrained nose, this smells just like Parma Violets, which is no bad thing! I've recently become obsessed with finding a new fragrance that is unique, and that wouldn't be worn by tonnes of other women wherever I go. I think this may be it, and it's going right to the top of my birthday list! It's quite a powdery number, as I've said, this has strong violet notes, but also berries, tonka bean, rose and sandalwood.

Lastly, the new perfume from Lancome. I already love Midnight Tresor Rose, but I think this newer one has overtaken it in my favourites! As far as I know this isn't actually out yet, but I've had a few small samples of it, and I have never in my life had so many compliments on how I smell!  This has notes of praline, jasmine, vanilla, tonka bean and pear. To me, this is similar to Prada's Candy, but not as sweet. On me, I feel this is quite musky. 

So, there we have my fragrance list! There are more that I want (Illamasqua Freak, Marc Jacobs Daisy etc..), but these are my pick of the bunch!

Haulin #8

Evening! 

I did a bit of clothes shopping recently, and thought I would show you the things I bought :)

I also bought some accessories/jewelry but I am going to save them for another post!

 I bought three dresses. The first is by the brand Rare at Topshop, and was in the sale for £10. It's the most beautiful blue colour, quite dark but still nice and bright! This is a really flattering shape, as it is tight on the top, then kicks out from the waist, and has long sleeves and a criss cross detail on the back. The only drawback to this dress is that it's made from weird material, that feels like it's going to snag easily, but I'll just have to be really careful when I wear it!

The next thing I bought, I am soo excited about! I was going to buy this red Topshop dress when it was full price at £48, but I couldn't justify it at the time, and got it for £20 in the sale! This is also quite flattering, and super cute! 

The last dress I bought was from H&M. I have this dress in a few designs already, as it's also very flattering! It's got capped sleeves, a tight top and a flared skirt. This is a bargain at £12.99 and I thought the bird print was really cute and retro. The fact that I also get staff discount also doesn't hurt! 

 Lastly, this gorgeous maxi skirt also from H&M, for £19.99. This is one of those skirts with a shorter, tighter skirt underneath, and a flowy, sheer layer over the top. I was originally looking for a pair of denim shorts, as I don't have many summery clothes, but I could not find ANY that fit me right! In the end, I went for this instead as I thought it would be an easy to wear summer piece :)

Review - Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant

Just a quick review today :)

Recently I've been really enjoying Elizabeth Arden as a brand. I've been using their cleanser, face spf and also lusting after a foundation, and their tinted lip balms. 

If you say 'Elizabeth Arden' to someone, chances are, they will think of the other product I have been loving, the 8 Hour Cream.

This cream is a favourite amongst youtubers/bloggers and celebrities, and rightly so.

This cream is a rusty orange colour, with a very distinctive smell. Some people love the smell, some hate it, I'm not really fussed either way. It's quite a medicinal, clinical smell, but EA have recently brought out a fragrance free version if it does bother you.

A multi purpose product, 8 hour cream can be used on cuticles, dry skin, minor abrasions/scrapes/burns, eyebrows, split ends, spots and lips. I use this the most on lips, it's non sticky formula gives a slight shine, and is the most moisturising product I have used on them.  So, for any other matte lipstick lovers out there, this would be perfect!

Another way that I love to use this, is on my nose! Sounds weird, but hear me out haha!

I seem to be very susceptible to colds, and have really bad hayfever as well, which leads to nose blowing, which leads to a sore, dry nose! 

This is the only product that I can use on my nose in that state, which doesn't sting at all :)

I absolutely love this product, and would recommend it to everyone, even if you only end up using it as  a (admittedly very expensive!) lip balm. This is £25 for 50ml from Boots.com, which I know seems crazy but I really do think it's the worth the price.

P.S The picture is of a 15ml sample size which I got handed in Debenhams, so definitely ask for a sample if you want to try before you buy! :)

Wednesday Wants #20 + Spending Ban Update

Hello!

My spending ban has been hard this week...for some reason, there are so many lovely products around that I have wanted to buy! I am only 40 days in (not even half way through!) , and I am hoping that by making this wishlist, it will get rid of my temptations to buy them! Not sure how that will work, but fingers crossed ;)

First up, OPI's Nail Envy. This is on the pricy side, at £18.65 from Boots, but I know alot of people say this has saved their nails. My nails tend to get to a certain length, stop growing, get really weak, then start peeling and breaking! It's not great. 

Next, Collection (not collection 2000 anymore!), Cream Puff's. These look like lipglosses, but have a more moisturising, cream texture, and they dry quite matte. I particularly like the colour of Angel delight, but they're all lovely, and smell delicious. I first heard about these through reading Jennie's blog, and they look gorgeous on her :) These are £2.99 (bargain!) from Boots.

Lastly, the River Island 'black high shine tube pants'. I've been really lusting after a pair of AA Disco Pants, but I just can't stretch to that much (£70!!) on one pair of trousers! I've heard from a few people that these are a good dupe, and the £30 price tag makes them all the more attractive :)

So that's what I've been lusting after this week! Anyone have any of these things? 

Also, does anyone have any Disco Pant type trousers?! I'm not sure what kind of thing I would be able to wear with them..any suggestions welcome!

Shopping My Stash #1- Skincare

Evening! 

A few days ago, I did my first Shopping my Stash video, which you can see here.

I've done a post on the makeup bits I mentioned, which you can read here, so I though I would do a seperate post on the skincare bits I am trying to use at the moment! 

Excuse the terrible picture- this is what happens when your brain tells you it's a good idea to take a picture at 9.30 in the evening!

• Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash- I did a post on how much I hated this product, but my skin has changed alot recently, so I'm hoping it will be second time lucky, and that this will miraculously clear up my skin! :)
• Elizabeth Arden 2 in 1 Cleanser- This is supposed to be a cleanser and a toner. I have no idea why I stopped using this, it's such a beautiful product! Smells amazing, lathers up really nicely and leaves your skin feeling so, so soft and smooth.
• Soap and Glory No Clogs Allowed face mask- This is one of those self heating masks, which I'm not a huge fan of.  I stopped using this when I discovered S&G The Fab Pore face mask, but that has run out, so I'm back onto this one! My skin is terrible at the moment, so hopefully this will help keep it under control!
• De Vere Aloe Vera Skin Care Gel- I think originally I bought this to put on sunburn, but when I found this lurking at the bottom of my drawer, I did a bit of research, and Aloe Vera gel has so many uses and benefits! I am going to be using this as a spot gel, and a hand cream :)
• Steamcream- I bought this a while ago, used it for a bit, and then totally forgot about it. It's a multi purpose cream, I am going to be using it mainly as a moisturiser, and possibly as a hand cream if the Aloe Vera gel doesn't work out!

FOTD- Shopping My Stash

Hello! 

Thought I'd do a quick FOTD- this was the makeup I wore the other day to meet a friend in town, browse round some shops and have a catch up :)

 I look totally miserable in the last one, but it was the only one I managed to take that actually showed my eyeshadow! I used a few things that were in my 'Shopping my Stash' post, and I've really been enjoying them, especially the Revlon eyeshadows.

Wednesday Wants #19

Evening all! 

Bit later in the day than I had planned to post this, but better late than never ay?!

Here's what I'm after this week...

 Firstly, this beautiful Marc B Amelia bag. This is a doctor bag, with leopard lining, and both a short and long (detachable) strap. I think quilted bags always look so classic and elegant, and the gold accents on this set it off perfectly. It's also available in Camel, which is also lovely. This is slightly pricy at £49, but I never mind spending a little bit more on bags, as I never go off them, and will use them to death.

Next, something which has taken the Blogging world by storm, the MUA Undressed palette. I already own the MUA Heaven and Earth palette, which is such good quality, and I can't wait to add this to my collection! Supposedly a very good dupe or the infamous UD Naked palette, this is a fraction of the price at £4.

Lastly on my mind this week, is a Lush face mask, specifically Cosmetic Warrior. Designed to fight spots, but not be harsh and attack your skin, I think this is just what my spotty-but-still-very-dry-skin needs! Even though I've heard rave reviews about Lush face masks, I never bought one, so this is going to be one of the first things I buy once my spending ban is over!
